Wireless security systems protect children from tragedy

Posted on , written by Richard Lang

During the afternoon of the 22nd of April, 2 boys were risking their lives whilst at play.

A large East Midlands construction company has moved away from manned guarding, relying almost exclusively on wireless construction site security systems, such as TagAlarm, TagCam and mobile response. This had led to a cost saving well into six figures, and actually led to an increase in crime detection. On this occasion, TagAlarm activated in several areas of the compound, indication an intrusion. Suspecting large plant or diesel theft, a response team was dispatched immediately. They found two boys playing on site who fled on the approach of the officers. 11 minutes after the site was left secure, TagAlarm indicated a presence in the compound once again. The response team were turned around, and managed to catch the boys in the act of letting off fire extinguishers. The officers were able to escort the boys to safety before educating them regarding the dangers of any construction site.

“…Tag Guard’s Wireless Security Systems has been installed in place of man guarding and it has previously proven the guard had not moved from his office for 17 hours. Needless to say I examined reports and where there had been no movement for more than 2 hours, I reduced the guarding bill by the appropriate amount each time. It saved us £1300. The guarding company was not happy.
