Increasingly stringent Health & Safety legislation, along with more demanding insurance requirements, mean that construction sites must now have adequate fire detection and evacuation warning systems in place to protect site personnel. Specifically designed to meet these needs, our range of TagAlarm temporary fire alert systems are battery operated, wireless, portable and fully monitored by Tag Guard’s remote monitoring station that operates 24/7, 365 days a year.

Being fully portable they can easily be moved to new locations or positions, as work on the building or construction site progresses. They are equally suited to major refurbishment or renovation projects where the existing (permanent) fire systems have been temporarily decommissioned or deactivated.

Three levels of protection are available:

1. Basic fire detection system – wireless smoke detectors.
2. Detection and evacuation warning system for site personnel - includes break glass units and Klaxons for localised audible warning.
3. As for level 2 but with the addition of ‘Master Blaster’ sirens for evacuation of the whole site.

All levels / products can be installed as part of a standard TagAlarm security system.

How the system works

The fire alert system range comprises:

Smoke Detectors
Designed for building sites, having a far greater tolerance to dust and particulate contamination. As with all effective smoke detectors it is highly sensitive to carbon particles in the air. Interchangeable detection heads to give alarm response for either heat rise, optical smoke detection or ionisation smoke detection.

Break Glass units
A Break Glass Unit that will alarm when smashed / broken with options that include re-settable glass windows.

Terrier Klaxon
An integrated klaxon unit for mounting on a wall, it has a “break glass” window to trigger an audible local alarm warning. When activated all three products will also send an alarm signal to Tag Guard’s remote 24/7 monitoring centre so that appropriate action can be taken including alerting fire emergency services.

Master Blaster
A very loud warning unit giving 140dB of power output. Used as a siren for evacuating the whole site. An option for using in conjunction with above products.
